Benefit Stay Flawless 15 Hour Primer Review

Benefit Stay Flawless 15 Hour Primer - Product Review

As a make-up artist I cannot stress enough the benefits of using a primer before the application of your foundation. The perfect primer should smooth over any imperfections such as fine lines, blemishes or dry patches creating a flawless base for the foundation to be applied over and should also work with the foundation to keep it in place longer than it would be without the use of a primer.

The Benefit Stay Flawless 15 Hour Primer is available online or at Benefit counters located in selected Boots and Debenhams stores and is £24.50 for 15.5g (net weight) primer. This product is the most recent in the line of Benefit primers and their first to claim the ability of keeping the foundation fresh and flawless for 15 hours by holding onto it like a magnet. It comes in the form of a stick and once applied, the foundation is used on top and the two are blended together creating a long lasting, smooth and flawless appearance.

This product is ideal for individual use as you apply only what you need, with no excess or overuse, as can occur with gel and liquid primers. It is quick and easy to use, simply apply in a circular motion straight onto the skin, after application my skin immediately looked matt and felt smoother, I also found that my foundation was easier and quicker to apply and I didn’t seem to use quite as much as I normally would. The first time I used this primer I did make the mistake of messing about for a few minutes before applying my foundation and I found it more difficult to blend the products together and for the rest of the day if I touched my face the foundation lifted off so it’s important to make sure that the primer and foundation are applied one after the other and blended together immediately.

Having oily skin I wasn’t convinced that my foundation would be ‘locked in place’ for a full 15 hours however I did notice that the primer kept the typical ‘break though shine’ at bay for a lot longer than usual and I certainly had more foundation left in place at the end of the day than I normally would.
