No 7 Total Renew Micro-Dermabrasion Exfoliator Review

No 7 Total Renew Micro-Dermabrasion Exfoliator Product Review

Having been a skin care therapist for over 10 years I have tried many brands of facial exfoliators and have found most of them to be too creamy with too few course granules spread throughout which can leave the skin with an oily film and doesn’t adequately exfoliate the skin.

The No 7 Micro-Dermabrasion Exfoliator, available online or at No 7 counters in a 75ml tube for £11 has the perfect balance of fine Aluminium-Oxide Micro Crystals in a light base and claims to reveal fresher, clearer, younger looking skin and within 4 treatments will stimulate cell renewal helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines, sun damage, dark areas and blemishes, creating a more even skin tone.

There is a subtle fragrance and a high density of exfoliating crystals in this product and it almost feels like rubbing sand between your fingers. The exfoliator is massaged into damp skin in an upwards motion for one minute, it does have a slightly ‘rough’ feeling on the skin and I did notice certain areas of my face turning pink which usually means an exfoliator is doing its job and it certainly wasn’t uncomfortable at any time. I found it easier and quicker to remove this product using a damp cloth rather than rinsing as suggested due to the fact that it took several rinses to remove all of the exfoliating crystals. After drying my skin, although still slightly pink in certain areas, I felt I did have a brighter, clearer complexion, my skin was smoother and I also noted how quickly my skin absorbed the other products in my skin care regime such as serum and moisturiser after having used this exfoliator.

I have been using this product twice a week for the past month and I can’t say I have observed a significant difference in any fine lines I have although I noticed a reduction in the amount of ‘breakouts’ I’m suffering, a marked improvement in the overall appearance of my complexion and have also had several compliments about how good my skin is looking, which is never a bad thing.

*There should be an SPF of at least 15 in any good moisturiser and it’s especially important to ensure your skin is protected from the sun after using this product to prevent any damage after the skin has been so well exfoliated.
